One of the researches we wanted to be the input of the labresults is based on a reseach on the or within the urban tissue. Lets say try to analyse on maaiveld (surface) to discover data we might can use for this project.
One the analyse we made with the subgroup “trainstation” (Jaarbeurs related to the trainstation) was by making a video during one of our trips in the area. We recorded the trajectory the passengers normal would make from the central hall towards the Jaarbeurs. After recording this one we analyzed this movie to extract finally a conclusion out of it.
Our conclusion of this analyse was about the relation between the passenger and the space. During the trajectory inside the building, the space is influencing the behavior and movement of the passenger. But outside on the Jaarbeursplein (square) no space cant influence the movement of the behavior anymore and is taken over by signs and symbols. These signs created an unaware feeling to walk immediately towards the Jaarbeurs which is an huge created influence on the passengers movement. The Jaarbeurs created this influence with these tactics to alienate finally the passengers from the square with the result of no contact with the Jaarbeursplein at all.
